Lyle Guy Heffernan, 57, of Taft, Texas passed away on February 01, 2018.
Lyle was born in Victoria, Texas to Guy & Sue Heffernan on December 16, 1960. He attended Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, Texas and graduated from TSTI in Waco, Texas. Lyle started his journey in the agriculture/farming industry in 1988, working as a mechanic for South Texas Implement in Alice, Texas. He finished his employment as Service Manager at South Texas Implement in Taft, Texas.
Lyle went to work for Robstown Hardware in Robstown Texas on March 25, 2008 as Service Coordinator. He continued to develop his skills and craft in the farming industry. There he developed one of his greatest friendships with Andy Pollard. Lyle was very proud to work with such an outstanding team of people, who were not only his co-workers, but great friends and considered Robstown Hardware as his extended family.
Lyle was involved with Cub Scouts in Portland, Texas. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved the USA and John Deere. Lyle was hard-working man. He was kind and patient with a strong belief in God. He valued his friendship of 50 years with Troy Wratislaw, and treasured his friendship with Jimmy Mauch, Ernie Lane, Matthew Setliff, Keith Havelka and Sean Robertson.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents: Guy and Sue Heffernan; and his sister: Dr. Linda Heffernan.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Deb of Taft, Texas; daughter Jordana Heffernan McIntyre; two grandsons, Blaine Heffernan and Elijah McIntyre; and sister Laurie Colburn of Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Portland Texas on February 05, 2018. The family will receive guests from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Portland, Texas on February 06, 2018, 10:00AM with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Palms Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Harbor Hospice, especially Clare Gilmore, RN; close family friends Melissa Walker and Amber Henkes; and to sister-in-law Donna Tumlinson Nix. Thank you all for the loving care and support you extended Lyle in his final days. We shared laughter, tears and many prayers.
