Taft – Manuel Castillo, a resident of Taft, Texas passed away January 12, 2021.He was 86.
Mr. Castillo was born on November 24, 1934, in Taft, Texas to Amador Z. and Elidia M. Castillo. Manuel was a retired carpenter who was very well known for his crafty wood work. He spent all of his life in Taft where he built a home for his wife and six children.
Manuel is preceded in death by his parents: Amador and Elidia Castillo; sisters: Guadalupe C. Pena and Josefina Davila; and brothers Elueterio and Julio Castillo.
Manuel leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Irene G. Castillo. They were married for 66 years; one son: Angel (Elvira) Castillo; five daughters: Sylvia (Frank) Castillo, Rosie (Sonny) Castaneda, Leticia G. Castillo, Bernadette Castillo (Fred), Yvonne Castillo (Joe); 15 grandkids, 31 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 17, 2021, 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 18, 2021, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
