Gregory – Manuela V. Garcia passed away on February 21, 2025.  She was 85.

Manuela was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico on June 17, 1939 to Julia (Ruiz) and Ruperto Veliz. She was a resident of Gregory since 1960. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death are her husband: Alfredo Flores Garcia, Sr.; son: Alfredo Garcia, Jr; grandchildren: Samantha Raquel Ruiz and Frank Isaac Ruiz; parents: Ruperto and Julia Veliz; siblings: Humberto Veliz, Andres Veliz, Ruben Veliz, Aurora Veliz and Elida Villgran.

Survivors include her daughters: Leticia Garcia and Noemi Garcia from Gregory, Texas; Senaida Saenz (Jaime) from Katy, Texas and Linda Arguello from Corpus Christi, Texas; 14 grandchildren: Liana Saenz, Jacob Saenz, Alfredo Garcia, III (Stacey), Tony Garcia (Brittany), Julia Ann Ruiz, Leticia Villanueva (Alex), Stephen Ruiz (Bailey), Martha Ruiz, Balencia Ruiz (Miguel), Claudio Ruiz, Chriselda Solis-Fuller (Christion), Riva Gomez (Jeff), Jose Solis, Jr (Alanna) and Mariah Solis; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers: Feliciano Veliz, Javier Veliz and Rumaldo Veliz from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; sisters: Blanca Ruiz, Esperanza Ayala, Norma Medina (Luis) all from Laredo, Texas, Irma Baldenegro (Jesus) from Austin, Texas and Ana Aguirre (Celso) from Durango, Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Primera Iglesia Bautista, Gregory.  The Funeral Service will be held the same evening, 6:00 PM at the church. Burial will be held at a later day.
