Manuela Q. Soto

Odem – Manuela Q. Soto entered eternal rest on March 11, 2024 at the age of 94 at home with her family by her side.

Manuela was born in Mexico on October 3, 1929, at the age of 14 she came to Texas.  Manuela dedicated her life to Our Lord Jesus Christ and Mary Our Holy Mother as well as to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great great-grandmother. She is also remembered as a dear friend that loved everyone and opened her home and kitchen to all.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Sixto Soto; son: Donato Soto, Sr.; parents: Felipe and Maria Cabera.   

Survivors include her children: Ruben Soto (Amparo), Oscar Soto (Eva), Daniel Soto (Hilda), Noe Soto (Rosie), Gloria Gutierrez (Alan), Rick Soto (Veronica), Baldemar Soto (Isabel), Yolanda Soto (+Robert Palacios), 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews that very often showered her with gifts of food and kindness. We would like to thank her special angels here on earth who helped care for our mother throughout the years; Frances Garcia, Nora Benavidez, Mary Halloway, Isabel Garcia, Concha Cordova, Rosie and Freddie Martinez and Nora Aguirre.      

Visitation will begin Friday, March 15, 2024, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Odem. Interment will follow in Edroy Cemetery, Edroy.
