Obituary for Marcelo Maldonado Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Marcelo Maldonado Jr., who peacefully left us on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Marcelo Maldonado Jr. was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and proud veteran who lived his life with honor, courage, and unwavering commitment.

Born on January 12, 1958, in Sinton, Texas, to Marcelo Maldonado and Angelita Maldonado, both of whom preceded him in death, as well as his dear sister Sylvia Maldonado who passed before him, he grew up surrounded by family, and his bond with his siblings, was one of great love and loyalty.

Marcelo Maldonado Jr. served in the United States Army with distinction, dedicating 3 years to the defense of our country. His service was marked by a sense of duty and bravery, earning him numerous commendations and accolades throughout his career.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Rosalinda Reyna, Margaret Lopez, Rogelio Maldonado, Debbie Maldonado, Elizabeth Gaines, David Maldonado, and Andrea Perales, his children, Amanda Listrom, Amber Maldonado, Genevieve Elizondo, Marcelo Maldonado III, Marcus Maldonado, his grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Though his absence leaves a void in our hearts, we find comfort knowing that his legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Marcelo Maldonado Jr. will be laid to rest at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM where we will honor and celebrate the life of Marcelo Maldonado Jr.

Rest in peace, Marcelo Maldonado Jr. Your courage, love, and spirit will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts.
