Sinton – Margarito DeLaCruz, age 71, passed away on August 23, 2025.

Margarito was born on November 5, 1953, in Sinton, Texas, to Margarita (Cruz) Gregorio DeLaCruz. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His warm spirit, deep love for his family, and strong faith touched the lives of all who knew him. Margarito had a passion for music and loved playing the guitar. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and spending time with his loved ones. Above all, he was proud to serve as a pastor, dedicating his life to guiding and uplifting others through his faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years: Marcy DeLaCruz; sons: Michael Escamilla  from Sinton, Texas and Moses Escamilla (Thelma) from Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter: Elizabeth Ann Hinojosa from Victoria, Texas; grandchildren: Joshua DeLaCruz and Maisee Hinojosa both from Victoria, Texas, Isaac Hinojosa from Sinton, Texas, Samantha Maria Hinojosa from Victoria, Texas, Timothy Escamilla and Christopher Escamilla both from Forth Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren: Mellanie DeLaCruz, Jeremiah Garcia, Maylee Garcia, Elizabeth Hinojosa, Isaac Hinojosa, Jr., Koa Hinojosa, Aiden Salazar and Layla Lamar; brother: Eloy DeLaCruz from Sinton, Texas; and sisters: Fanny Nevaro and Esther Rojas both from College Station, Texas and Delma Galindo (Robert) from Bryan, Texas;

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Visitation will begin Thursday, August 28, 2025, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Funeral Service will be the same Evening, 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
