Martin Mares Obituary

Martin Mares passed away September 26, 2026. He was 42.

Martin was born on September 9, 1984 in Mexico to Luisa (Rodriguez) Mares and Martin Mares, Sr. He was a resident of Sinton and worked as a lineman for Elliott Electrical.

Martin was a devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was full of life, had a wonderful sense of humor and treasured the time he spent with the people he loved. Family was at the heart of who Martin was, and he found some of his greatest happiness in simply being together with them.

Martin loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle. There was something about being out on the open road and feeling the wind in his hair that brought him joy. He also loved the simple things in life—sitting outside, firing up the barbeque pit, sharing a good meal, telling stories and laughing with family and friends.

Those who knew Martin will remember the way he brought life to the moments he shared with others. He had a love for people and for making memories and his presence could turn an ordinary day into one worth remembering. Whether gathered around a barbeque, enjoying time outdoors, or simply sitting and talking, Martin cherished the moments spent with the people who mattered most to him.

Above all, Martin was proud of his children and loved his family deeply. His greatest legacy will not be measured by the years he lived, but by the love he gave, the memories he created and the lives he touched along the way.

Although his time with us was far too short, the love Martin shared will remain. He will live on in the hearts of his children, his parents, his brothers and sisters, his extended family and the many friends who were blessed to know him. His laughter, his stories, his adventurous spirit and his love of family will be remembered for years to come.

Martin is survived by his children, Katalyna Mares from Sinton, Texas, Angeliena Mares and Reina Mares, both from Corpus Christi, Texas; and Alaina Mares; his stepson, Ariel Mares from Corpus Christi, Texas; his parents, Martin and Luisa Mares from Sinton, Texas; brothers, Oscar Mares, Jerry Mares and Angel Mares, all from Sinton, Texas; sisters, Ana Mares from Odem, Texas, Esperanza Mares from Corpus Christi, Texas and Maria Mares from Sinton, Texas; and many extended family members and dear friends.

His family takes comfort in knowing that although Martin is no longer physically beside them, the love he gave and the memories he left behind will remain a part of them forever. Martin will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered.
