Martin “Colonel” Aranda passed away peacefully October 14, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas with his loving family at his side. He was 57.

Martin was born on January 16, 1967 in Taft, Texas to Carmen (Perez) and Marcelino Aranda. He was a resident of Taft most of his life, but lived in Schertz, Texas most recently. Colonel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Marcelino and Carmen Aranda; siblings: Juan P. Aranda, Ramon Aranda, Elma Aranda, Romaldo Aranda and Sammy Aranda; grandparents: Cruz and Julia H. Perez, Ricardo Aranda and Delfina Perez.

Survivors include his sisters: Maria Eva Rodriguez (Jose) from Ganado, Texas; Elva “Elvie” Reyes from Schertz, Texas; brothers: Felipe Aranda from San Antonio, Texas; Joe Aranda (Alma) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Cruz Aranda (Lydia) from Sinton, Texas; Lupito Aranda and Randy Aranda, both from San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will begin Saturday, October 19, 2024, 9:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow, 10:30 AM the same morning. The Funeral Service will begin, 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.
