Mary Jane Benningfield Mosier

Rockport – Mary Jane Benningfield Mosier entered into Heaven on Saturday, September 16, 2023. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 80.

Jane was born in Cuero, Texas on September 8, 1943 to Mattie Louise (Boone) and George Washington Benningfield. She was a longtime resident of Rockport for 70 years and a member of First Assembly of God Church, as well as a graduate of Aransas County High School.  In 1976, Jane married her soulmate, Bob Mosier, they were blessed with an extraordinarily happy and loving 46-year marriage. She was well known for her bubbly personality and her blue or teal colored hair.  Jane never met a stranger and loved her family with all her heart.  She also loved fishing, wildlife, Jesus and country singer, Alan Jackson. Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Bob Mosier; parents: Mattie and George Benningfield; brother: James; 2 sisters: Lou and Georgia; nephew: Michael; 2 brothers-in-law: Rex and Howard; and her in-laws.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Miki (Fernando) Chavez, Casey (John) Callejas, Kerry (Robert) Rhotenbery, Susan (Russell) Pyle, Barbie (Alvin) Bardwell; son: Danny (Cara) Mosier; 24 grandchildren: Courtney, Matthew, Michael, Alex, Adam, Vivian, Max, Molly Jane, Boomer, Maddie, Amelia, Lillian, Zach, Sam, Ethan, Nathan, Jacob, Natalie, Nicole, Krista, David, Alec,  Peyton and Tori Kenny; 18 great-grandchildren: Kaden, Joshua, Autumn, Mia Jane, Aiden, Jeremiah, Noah, Jonah, Landon, Arianna, Jade, Lyn, Alli, Sara Jane, Riley, Adaline, Everett and Charlie; sister: Janice; 2 sisters-in-law: Shirley and Kay; 2 brothers-in-law: Mike and Clyde.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Rockport Cemetery, Rockport.
