Matilde Marie Castillo Obituary
Matilde Marie Castillo
Matilde Marie Castillo, 49, of Taft, Texas, entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2026. She was born on September 24, 1976, in Taft, Texas, to Christy (Ramirez) and Juan Castillo. A lifelong resident of Taft, Matilde was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and “Mimi” whose presence brought love and warmth to those fortunate enough to know her.
Matilde found joy in the simple things in life. She loved watching scary movies, playing solitaire, reading, and spending time fishing. Above all, she treasured the moments she shared with her family, especially her granddaughters and grandson. Her beloved pets, Sharika and Luke, also held a very special place in her heart.
Matilde will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and for the memories she created with the people closest to her. Her family will forever cherish the laughter, conversations, special moments, and unconditional love she shared with them. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will continue through the generations.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Castillo Sr., and her beloved sister, Crystal Rose Villalobos.
Left to cherish Matilde’s memory are her beloved fiancé, Ray Candelaria of Sinton, Texas; her mother, Christy Castillo, and stepfather, Danny Cortez; her sisters, Marlena (Jerry) Nino and Jessica (Antonio) Lopez, all of Taft, Texas; her brothers, Dimas Castillo Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Adrian Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; her daughters, Estefania Hernandez and Valeria Pizana; her grandchildren, Esther, Eliana, and Elizeo Jr. of Taft, Texas; and her nephews, Zachary Graves, David Hinojosa, James Graves, Brodi Tamez, and Abel Lopez of Taft, Texas.
Matilde’s life was a gift to all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. The love she shared, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will remain forever.
She will be terribly missed and leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. We find comfort in knowing that the love Matilde gave us will remain with us always.
