Michael Calvin Holland Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, teacher, coach, and friend, Michael Holland.
Michael is preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Janice Holland who instilled in him the values of faith, kindness, dedication and service that defined his life.
At a young age, Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, a decision that guided him throughout his life. His Christian faith was a source of strength and comfort, and while his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved him, we find peace in knowing that he is now in Heaven, rejoicing with his Savior and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
He is survived by his devoted brothers, Jeff (Anne) Holland and Richard (Amanda) Holland; his cherished niece, Kandace Holland; and his nephew, John Major Holland, whom he deeply loved and took great pride in watching grow. He also leaves behind countless friends, colleagues, former students, and athletes whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.
For more than thirty years, Michael faithfully served as a mathematics teacher, dedicating his career to helping students discover confidence in themselves and their abilities. Teaching was not simply his profession—it was his calling. As a coach and educator, he inspired generations of young people through his patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their potential. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the halls of the schools he served, Michael’s influence extended far beyond academics.
An avid sports enthusiast, Michael’s love for athletics was a lifelong passion. Whether coaching, attending games, discussing scores and statistics, or cheering on his favorite teams, sports brought him great joy and provided countless opportunities to connect with others. His enthusiasm was contagious, and many friendships were forged through his shared love of competition and teamwork.
Michael was a man of integrity, compassion, and quiet strength. He was the kind of person who made others feel valued and capable. His generosity of spirit, warm heart, and genuine care for those around him earned him the respect and affection of all who knew him.
He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, teacher, coach, mentor, and friend. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the countless students who carry forward the confidence and knowledge he helped cultivate.
Michael was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
