Our dear mother Minerva Y. Gomez sadly passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Surrounded by her loving children in her final moments, she brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives. Formerly of Odem, Minerva was born January 27, 1944 in Robstown, Texas.  She was married to the late Servando Adan Gomez, Sr for 39 years before his passing.  Minerva is survived by her children, Michael (Karla) Gomez, Matthew (Rosie) Gomez, Servando Adan (Jessica) Gomez, Jr., Eddie (Janeth) Pruneda, Joe (Josie) Pruneda, Raymond Pruneda and Diana Lopez. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Minerva is preceded in death by her daughter Gracie Lopez.

Our mom’s life reflected a quiet strength and deep love for her family. No words can describe how wonderful our mother was. She will remain in our hearts forever and will be remembered for her unconditional love and her unwavering faith in God.  A visitation will be held on Friday, August 8 from 3pm to 9pm. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited in the evening beginning at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at 10 am on Saturday, August 9, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem, with Father George Varghese and Father Pete Elizardo as celebrants. Interment will follow at the San Pedro Cemetery in Odem. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall.
