Ingleside – Nathanial Gaylord Hoover; born July 1, 1946 in Slaton, Texas to AJ and Ruth Hoover passed peacefully in his family home Saturday April 2, 2022, in the presence of his loving wife and family.
Nat as he was known by many, graduated from Slaton High, where he participated in basketball, football, track, FFA and choir.
Upon graduation, Nat began his lifelong career as an electrician starting in the US Navy, where he proudly served in the Vietnam war from 1965-1969. His career took him all over the world, from the coast of Borneo to the Bering Sea and led him to the love of his life; Sandra while vacationing in Bali.
Nat would never say no to a cold beer and always had one to share. He was always up for a chat, with a story to tell. Nat was a true jack of all trades, he could fix and build just about anything, even if it was on “Nat” time. In his spare time, he enjoyed relaxing in his hot tub and feeding fish on his boat aptly nicknamed “The Bottom Feeder”.
Nat was a true Texan, soft spoken, slow talking with a wit sharp as a razor. He had a wonderful sense of humor that would creep in when you least expected. Nat was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He will be remembered lovingly and greatly missed by those that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: AJ and Ruth Hoover; brothers: Robby and Arlie; sister: Myrna; his son: Lance
He is survived by his loving wife: Sandra; daughter: Racheal; son: Alex, wife Melissa; grandchildren: AJ and Samantha; son: Tyron, wife Shannon; brother: Tim, wife Michelle.
A gathering will be held at his family home, Saturday April 9, 2022 at 3pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend to Celebrate the Life of Nat Hoover RIP.
