Nicholas "Niko" Medellin Obituary

Pflugerville - Nicholas Ryan Medellin passed May 8, 2022. He was born on February 12, 2004. He was 18. Nicholas was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Candelario “Albert” Medellin, III and Belinda (Diaz) Medellin. Niko was an amazing, kind hearted Junior at Hendrickson High School. He played an active role in the Pflugerville community and was an alter server for St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He had a true passion for soccer and played for HHS and United (Club). Nikos loving smile, positivity, and strong faith inspired all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father: Candelario “Albert” Medellin III; sister: Ashley Medellin; paternal grandparents: Cande and Norma Medellin; uncles: Tony Diaz and Michael Medellin.

Survivors include his mother: Belinda Medellin (Juan Lozano) from Austin; brothers: Brandon Medellin (Leilannie) from Austin; Johnathon Medellin from Austin; Christian Medellin from Corpus Christi; DeRick Castro (Jennifer) from Sinton; Dylan Castro from Charlotte, North Carolina; Adrian Cantu from Sinton and Juan Lozano III from San Diego, California; sisters: Isabella Medellin from Austin; Lauren Jewert (Jon) from San Antonio; maternal grandparents: Eliborio and Angela Diaz from Sinton; aunts/uncles: Veronica (Albert) Castillo from Sinton, Javier (Celina) Medellin from Corpus Christi; nephews: Cody Jewert, Doc Ross Castro, Jameson Medellin; cousins: Austin, Gavin and Kassie Castillo and numerous friends.

His prayer:     “So do not fear, for I am with you;

                     Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

                     I will strengthen you and help you;

                     I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Visitation will be held in Pflugerville beginning Wednesday, May 11, 2020, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home located at 14501 N IH 35 in Pflugerville, Texas. Visitation will continue on Thursday in Pflugerville, with time and place to be announced.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2020, 9:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 9:30 AM followed by the  Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
