Taft – Nicolas I. Ramirez, Jr. passed away peacefully May 20, 2025. He was 87.
Nicolas was born November 21, 1937 in Taft, Texas to Jacinta (Inclan) and Nicolas Ramirez. He was a lifelong resident of Taft. Nicolas was a Veteran of the Unites States Army. He was formerly employed as an Outboard Mechanic. Nicolas was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and patriot. He will be missed greatly.
Preceding in death are his son: Jesse Michael “Mike” Ramirez; parents: Nicolas and Jacinta Ramirez; brothers: Genaro Ramirez (Ramona); Leopold Ramirez (Maria); Juan Ramirez, Ernesto Ramirez (Ofelia); and Jeronimo Ramirez; sisters: Leonor Garcia (Celestino); Elvira Ramirez; and Elvira Rios (Tony); and brothers-in-law: Mike Garcia and Miguel Garcia.
Survivors include his beloved wife: Consuelo Ramirez from Taft, Texas; sons: Nicolas Ramirez (Nora) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Jeronimo “Jerry” Ramirez (Belinda) from Taft, Texas; Daniel “Danny” Ramirez (John) from Seattle, WA; one daughter: Alma Adriana “Audrey” Gonzales from Taft, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister: Maria Garcia from Taft, Texas; sister-in-law: Amelia and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin Thursday, May 22, 2025, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 23, 2025, 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi.
