Taft –Norma Alvarez passed away on August 6, 2025 at the age of 55.

Born on April 25, 1970 to Rosa (Lopez) and Gil R. Alvarez, Sr. Norma spent most of her life in the close-knit community of Taft, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth and quiet strength.

Norma was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother and sister—a gentle soul who brought love and light to her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her generous heart and caring spirit will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Norma is preceded in death by her beloved sister: Rosario Alvarez; brother: Jose Luis Alvarez; her maternal grandparents: Pablo and Juanita Lopez; and her paternal grandparents: Trinidad and Elena Alvarez.

Survivors include her mother: Rosa Lopez; her father: Gil Alvarez, Sr.; 2 wonderful daughters: Natali Ramos from Beeville, Texas and Victoria DeLos Santos (Isaac) from Taft, Texas; brother: Gil Alvarez, Jr. (Trisha) from Sinton, Texas; sister: Deborah Olivarez from Taft, Texas and 5 grandchildren: Zayn, Damion, Issac, Jr., Malcom and Elena.

Norma’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her most.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 9:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, Texas.
