Taft – Odilia Maldonado passed away on July 3, 2024. She was 71.

Odilia was born June 5, 1953 in Sinton, Texas to Aurora (Garza) and Miguel Maldonado. She was a lifelong resident of Taft. Odilia helped raise her nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death by her daughter: Odilia Castillo; former spouse: Julio A. Castillo; parents: Miguel and Aurora Maldonado; siblings: Mike Maldonado, Jr, Juanita Maldonado, Mary Lou Gonzales, Adolfo Maldonado and Armando Maldonado.

Survivors include her sons: Julio A. Castillo, Jr. (Yolanda), Fernando Castillo and Juan Maldonado all from Taft, Texas; daughters: Zenaida Castillo Huff (Ross) and Carolina Castillo both from Rockport, Texas, Aurora Castillo from Ingleside and Elydia Castillo from Corpus Christi, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister: Elena Vargas from Aransas Pass, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, July 11, 2024, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 12, 2024, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will be private.

Pallbearers: Juan Leonardo Maldonado, Julio Amador Castillo III, Dominic Rey Castillo Garza, Alfonso O. Molina, Rene Molina Jr., Seth Gabriel Valdez, Ryan Santos Valdez and Francisco A. Villegas II.
