Sinton – Olga C. Garza passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. She was 79.
Olga was born on January 25, 1947 in Karnes City, Texas to Jose Maria and Simona (Martinez) Cantu. She made her home in Sinton, Texas where she was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Olga was a proud Guadalupana and Crusillista whose faith was an important part of her life.
For many years, Olga worked in food service with Sinton ISD where she touched the lives of countless children with her kindness and caring spirit. She took great pride in her work and in serving her community.
Olga was known for her warm heart, generous hospitality and the welcoming home she created for family and friends. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of good food, laughter and love. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family. Her love, care, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her son, Joe Anthony Garza; her parents, Jose Maria and Simona Cantu; her siblings, Rene Cantu, Robert Cantu and Annette Cantu; and her sons-in-law, Rick Sanchez and Robert Mendez.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Tony Garza from Sinton, Texas; her son, Ronnie Garza (Leticia) from Beeville, Texas; her daughter, Laura Garza-Maldonado (Patrick) from Sinton, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren: Marcus Garza (Stephanie), Aaron Garza (Elizabeth), John Paul Garza (Cynthia), Jared Sanchez, Jonah Sanchez, Jaden Sanchez,Michael Mendez, Stephanie Cantu (Jasmine Jonas), Karina Carranza, Heidi Rodriguez (Cheyenne), Noah Garcia and Alex Garcia.
She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren: Aubriella Garza, Jeremiah Peña, Alexis Peña, Ethan Garza, Sarah Jane Garza, Aurie Zapata, Dominic Gonzales, Justin Jaii Gonzalez and Damian Jesus Molina. Survivors also include her brother, Israel M. Cantu (Janie) from St. Paul, Texas; her sister, Norma Carranza (Julian) from Sinton, Texas; sisters-in-law, Janie Cantu and Olga Cantu; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. The Holy Rosary will be recited that same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Garza, Aaron Garza, John Paul Garza, Jared Sanchez, Jonah Sanchez, Michael Mendez, Heidi Rodriguez and Jasmine Jonas.
