Seguin – Patricia R. Huerta succumbed to her battle with cancer on April 19, 2023. She was 74. She was born September 15, 1948 to Guadalupe (Garcia) and Ignacio Reyes in Laredo, Tx. She was a military spouse for over 20 years and likewise a Civil Service employee for 30 years. Always moving due to their military transfer orders, she worked for these agencies: Bureau of Coals and Mines; Bureau of Indian Affairs; Army Corps of Engineers; Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA; Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, NC. After he retired, they built their home in Rockport and working in Corpus Christi, she worked at OSHA; she was one of the original 7 when US Border Patrol opened their first office; US Marshall’s office until she retired. She loved to be with family and doted on all of her nephews and nieces. She greatly enjoyed exercise including walking, water aerobics and tai chi. She was a devout Roman Catholic. There was no casino coin machine that she wouldn’t take on. She is a Taft High School graduate, 1968. She attained her Associates Degree at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends miss her so deeply.

Survivors include her loving husband: Leopoldo Huerta from Rockport, Texas; daughter: Lisa D. Rood (Ken) from Fort Collins, Colorado; grandson: Brandon Figueroa stationed at Edwards AFB, California; 2 brothers: Calvin Reyes (JoAnn) and Rudy Reyes (Mary) both from Corpus Christi, Texas; son-in-law: Robert Figueroa from Ingleside, Texas.
Visitation will begin Sunday, April 23, 2023, 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening at 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. A Prayer Service will be held Monday, April 24, 2023, 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Aransas Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockport, Texas.
Pallbearers will be: Calvin Reyes, Rudy Reyes, Jordan Reyes, Andy Huerta, Rob Brown and Anthony Hernandez.
