Patrick Stephen Gibson

Taft – Patrick Stephen Gibson passed away August 20, 2023. He was 70.

Pat was born February 11, 1953 in Sinton, Texas to Margaret (Schlotman) and James Joshua Gibson, Jr. He was a resident of Taft more than 20 years, and former resident of Portland. Pat was formerly employed as a consultant with Seco, Inc.

He had a great sense of humor and loud, jovial laugh. If you knew Pat, you knew his love and admiration for his children and grandchildren. He was a NASCAR fanatic; a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale, Jr.; he lived and breathed anything University of Texas; and he loved to BBQ – cooking a mean brisket and finger-lickin’ ribs. Pat was the best Papaw, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: James and Margaret Gibson.

Survivors include his children: Chad Kristopher Gibson (Ashley) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Connor Stephen Gibson (Shelbie) from Houston, Texas and Casey Lynn Gibson (Matthew Mahoney) from San Antonio, Texas; 6 grandchildren: Adam, Amelia, Audrina and Atticus Gibson; Alexander and William Mahoney.

brothers: Jim Gibson (Kay) from Schulenburg, Texas; Dan Gibson (Ava) from Taft, Texas and Mike Gibson from Odem, Texas; former spouse: Loree Foreman from Cedar Park, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. Family will receive guests from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Friday, August 25, 2023, 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Services beyond the chapel service will be private.
