Patsy Jean Parks Lankford was born June 9, 1933 to Ollie Whitfield Parks and Orpha Catherine Parks. She was born at her Grandma Roberson’s home in Spencer, Louisiana, and was an only child. Patsy attended school in Delhi, Louisiana, where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. She graduated from High School in 1951.
On October 16, 1953, Patsy Jean Parks married Bodie Dale Lankford of Haile, Louisiana. Bodie was her one and only love. They knew each other from early childhood. Patsy and Bodie were married in Delhi, Louisiana. Shortly after having their eldest son, Sam, Patsy and Sam followed her parents to Texas, while Bodie finished his time in the Air Force. The twins, Ron and Don, as well as Catherine, were all born in Texas. Patsy worked for Moody’s Pharmacy, Moore’s Pharmacy, and Rogers Jewelers while they lived in Sinton. Patsy served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, both Patsy and Bodie served in the Lions Club and were active members in a 42-domino club.
On the morning of July 11, 2026, Patsy died peacefully in her sleep at her home East of Sinton. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and O.C. Parks; her sister-in-law, Jo Dunavant; an infant grandson, Tyler Clayton Lankford; and daughter-in-law, Annie Lankford.
Patsy is survived by her husband of over 72 years, Bodie Dale Lankford; sons, Sam Lankford (Mary) of Sinton, Tx; Ron Lankford (Mary) of Groveton, Tx; Don Lankford of Sinton, Tx; and daughter, Catherine Gainey (Dan) of Colorado City, Tx. Grandchildren, Crystal Antley (Aaron); Nikki Edison, Cody Lankford (Teria), Quentin Lankford (Katie), Zac Lankford, Jon Lankford, Kelly Self (Drew), Ryan Gainey (Ashlee), Derek Gainey (Shelby), Dillon Gainey (Morgan), and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, Sinton. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Sinton. Interment will immediately follow the service at Sinton Cemetery.
