Skidmore - Paula Soto Castaneda passed away December 29, 2024. She was 70.
Paula was born in Sinton, Texas on November 30, 1954 to Anastacia (Perez) and Pedro Soto. She was a resident of Skidmore currently, but grew up in St. Paul. She married her late husband of almost 50 years, Arturo Castaneda, and together they raised their children and made a home for the children and grandchildren they loved so much. Paula was "Loving, had an amazing love for everyone that came around her. Always loved to talk to people about the Lord. That was her passion and no matter what she doing she would always pray for people who would call her to talk to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her."
Preceding in death are her husband: Arturo Castaneda; son: Johnny Castaneda; parents: Anastacia and Pedro Soto; brother: Benny Soto; sister: Sylvia Sanchez.
Survivors include her sons: Arturo Castaneda, Jr. and Joshua Castaneda (Mary) all from Skidmore, Texas; daughters: Adelaida “Ide” Shaulis (Thomas); Teresa Fuentes (Jose) all from Skidmore, Texas; Darleen Crank (Richard) from Mathis, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Israel Soto from Victoria, Texas, Jesse Soto from St. Paul, Texas, Peter Soto (Chris) from Mathis, Texas, Freddy Soto (Milta) and Raymond Soto both from Dallas, Texas; sisters: Margaret Rodriguez from Victoria, Texas, Alice Moody from Sinton, Texas, Olga Cantu and Anna Soto both from St. Paul, Texas, Ofelia Garcia (Johnny) from Alabama, Yolanda Arismendez (Genaro) from Harlingen, Texas.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Mt. Zion Revival Center, 2106 Jones Rd. in Beeville, Texas beginning at 5:00 PM. An evening service will follow, 7:00 PM at the church. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 6, 2025, 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Skidmore.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Castaneda, Arturo Castaneda, Andrew Castaneda, Ide Shaulis, Peter Soto and Jeremiah Fuentes.
