Perry Wayne Galbreath Obituary
In Loving Memory of Perry Wayne Galbreath
Born: July 23, 1961 - Died: May 2, 2025
Perry Wayne Galbreath, a devoted husband, father, friend, and sarcasm connoisseur, passed away suddenly into the arms of Jesus on May 2, 2025.
He was the youngest of three boys born to Richard and Inga Galbreath. Growing up with his brothers Ronnie and Bobby, it was a household filled with hearty German accents. So thick, Perry sometimes had to translate for the rest of us when his mother spoke…not her German, her English.
Perry’s love for his family was immeasurable. He donated a kidney to save his brother Bobby’s life, an act that showed his true selflessness hidden within the outer shell of a tough dude.
He married Lyssa Fowler, the blonde bombshell of his dreams, and together they shared 39 years of marriage. Lyssa was his partner in all things, from life's adventures to the love they both had for their daughter, Faith. Faith was Perry’s "dude chick," and he, her "dude man"—a bond that was unbreakable. He was a fantastic father, and a fantastic uncle, always saying to “kiss those babies” before ending a phone call.
A Navy brat who traveled the world with his well-respected Navy father, Perry chose to follow his own path by joining the Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He later built a life working in various roles, including running his own insulation business, working for Hess, and at Sherwin Alumina.
Perry was a true handyman and a lover of all things mechanical. He was known for his impressive model airplanes, which were anything but wimpy—these were the kind of planes that, when crashed into a tree, could bring both him and Lyssa to tears. Perry for the plane, Lyssa for knowing the cost of the replacement parts.
Perry also had a knack for improvisation. When he realized his German shepherd, Major, needed a seat for the plane rides, he removed a seat from Lyssa’s 1972 Superbug, a VW Beetle, so Major could travel in style alongside the planes.
In his later years, Perry downsized in dog size, to a poodle named Cricket, a tiny red puff who was rarely seen apart from his arms. Perry’s bond with his dogs was another testament to his softer side. He loved his family, his dogs, and life itself with a fervor that was infectious and a voice we really should have scouted for radio. Think something Howard Stern style. He would have been a hit, no doubt. Callers would know they’d get the no frills, zero sugar coated truth. That was our Perry.
Perry is survived by his still bombshell wife, Lyssa (no- she did not write the obit); daughter, Faith (Elisa) aka Dude Chick; his mother-in-law, Betty Fowler; sisters-in-law Cherri (Don), and Toy (Jimmy); nephew Brandon (Shay); nieces Sydney (Chris), Morgan (Cole), Bailey, and Regan; as well as great-nieces and nephews: Kennedy, London, Sofia, Sammy,
Bennett, and Phillip.
Though Perry is no longer with us, his legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on.
Rest in peace, Dude Man. We miss you already and will be quoting you forever.
