Ralph Darald Zapata

Sinton -  Ralph Darald Zapata was called to Eternal Life on May 2, 2023. He was 64.

Ralph was a graduate of Texas A&I University and Professional Engineer (PE) whose career spanned 40 years. At the time of his death, he was a Civil Engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration, FAA.

In addition to using his knowledge and skills for the good of others, Ralph shared his faith and love for God with everyone he knew and anyone he met. He was well prepared to do so due to a life that included becoming the man of the house after his father died. No one asked Ralph to take on such a demanding role at age 11, but in the spirit of who he was, Ralph assumed that responsibility and continued to watch over his family until his final breath in this life.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Soila Zapata and many extended family members. He is survived by his siblings: Richard & Alise Zapata, David & Linda Torres, and Roland & Lisa Zapata; nephews & nieces: Richard, Marie, Sarah & Aidan, Catherine & Derek, Michael, Mary Grace, Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Noah, David, Daniela, Veronica, Olivia, Adrianna, Viviana, Soila, and Siena who love him immensely and of whom Ralph was extremely proud and supportive.

Like the music he was so talented in strumming and singing, Ralph filled our hearts and lives with beauty and joy. We will miss our Brother, Tio, Father Figure, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend. Until we meet again- inspired by his generosity, courage, and unwavering faith in God, we will carry on the Legacy of Love and Perseverance he so willingly lived out.

Visitation will begin Thursday, May 11, 2023, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, and will continue on Friday, May 12, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 13, 2023, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
