Ricardo “Rick” Moreno passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 62, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply and will miss him beyond words.

Rick was born on April 18, 1963, in Sinton, Texas, to Maria (Rodriguez) and Pedro Moreno, Sr. From a young age, Rick had a gift for bringing joy to others. He had a big heart, a bigger smile, and a laugh that could light up any room. He was the kind of person who made people feel comfortable, welcomed, and seen—and his presence alone was enough to lift spirits.

Rick was a proud and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan who loved watching football, cheering on his team with enthusiasm. He enjoyed spending time at game rooms, but nothing compared to the joy he found in being with his family and friends. Those moments—laughing, talking, and simply being together—meant everything to him. Family was his world, and he showed his love through his time, his humor, and his constant support.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria and Pedro Moreno, Sr.; his brothers, Armando Moreno and Ernie Moreno; and his sister, Martina Moreno, whom he held close in his heart.

Rick’s love and legacy live on through those he leaves behind: his loving girlfriend, Carmen Herrera of Aransas Pass, Texas; his sons, Ricky Moreno, Jr. and Timothy Moreno; his daughters, Rachelle Moreno and Rebecca Moreno; his stepson, John Ackerman (Veronica) of Aransas Pass, Texas; his stepdaughter, Vanessa Ackerman of Aransas Pass, Texas; his beloved grandchild, Candy Rodriguez of Aransas Pass, Texas; his brothers, Domingo Moreno (+Lisa) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Pete Moreno (Sylvia), and David Moreno (Ida), all of Aransas Pass, Texas; his sister, Pam Moreno of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brother-in-law, Trino Herrera of Aransas Pass, Texas; his cousin, Gionni Amaro; and numerous family members and friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Rick will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the love he freely gave to everyone around him. Though his absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him, his laughter, memories, and spirit will live on forever.
