Robert Salazar, Jr., known affectionately by his family as Bobby, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026 with his family at his side. He was 59 years old.

Robert was born on July 28, 1966 in Sinton, Texas to Olga (Rodriguez) Salazar and Roberto Salazar, Sr.

After living in Greeley, Colorado for more than 30 years, he returned to Taft, the South Texas town where his family was. Taft held childhood memories and his heart. Robert was a self-employed mason, known for his talent and craftsmanship, especially in stucco design. He was an avid fan of rock concerts and made it his mission to attend as many as he could—it was one of his greatest joys.

Robert was also a devoted fan of Texas professional sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He even convinced many of his friends in Colorado to follow and become Cowboys and Spurs fans.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roberto Salazar, Sr., and his grandson, Zach.

Survivors include his mother, Olga Salazar from Taft, Texas; his son, Bobby James Salazar from Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren, to include Marcelina, Elijah and Riley; his brothers, Ricardo Salazar and Michael Salazar (Melissa); his sister, Deborah Salazar, all from Taft, Texas; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Talk will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The Memorial Talk will begin at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. The family will receive guests starting at 10:00 AM, with visitation concluding at 3:00 PM that afternoon.
