Robert Earl “PWee” Lewis left his earthly home on January 12, 2025 surrounded by friends, family and his faithful companion Tillie.

He was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 26, 1958 to James A. “Hop” Lewis and Rae Nell Lewis. He was the youngest of seven siblings who were in a blended family led by Hop Lewis and his wife Louise Hollis Lewis. The family moved from Lubbock to Chilicothe in 1963 and then to Vernon in 1969.

PWee graduated from Vernon High School in 1976 and attended Vernon Regional Junior College until Southwestern Bell Telephone called him to begin working in 1978. He spent his entire 36-year career with the phone company working as a lineman, an installer, and ultimately a construction coordinator. He retired in 2015, then spent four more years consulting on fiber optic cable placement projects and completely retired in 2019.

PWee married his soul mate, Stacy Lou Hancock, on April 24, 1995. Together they raised three boys: Benjamin Earl Lewis, Seth Robert Lewis and Chaney Todd Landgraf. They spent the majority of thir married years in Graham, Texas with a short stint in Crowley. Upon retirement, they moved to Rockport, Texas, which they currently call home.

PWee was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Eunice Lewis, his father Hop, stepmother Louise, brothers Stephen and Jimmy Lewis and Gary Compton, sister Linda Lemke, and extended family members Papa and Lou Helvey.

He is survived by his wife Stacy Lou, his three sons, Benjamin Lewis (wife Kristina: grandchildren Toby and Emily), Seth Lewis (wife Kelsey: grandchildren Nash and Millie) and Chaney Landgraf (wife Marissa Baudino: grand dogs: Dolly and Gatsby). Other survivors include his brother, Steve Lewis; sister Debbie Lewis-Smith; Aunt Suzi Shannon; Uncle Raymond Lewis, several nieces and nephews, his dog Tillie and an abundance of incredibly amazing friends. 

A Memorial Service will be help Saturday, January 18, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Saltwater Pavilion Rockport Beach.
