Rodger Rector joined Jesus in heaven on July 17, 2025 at the age of 73.

Rodger was born August 10, 1951 in Falfurrias, Texas to parents James and Doris Rector.

Rodger met his best friend Becky in 1992 and they were married in 1994 at their home in Ingleside on the Bay, Texas bringing together four wonderful children: Jacob, Brandy, Stephanie and Elisa.

Rodger joined the United States Navy in 1971 and served dutifully as an engine mechanic on the USS Affray MSO-511 being honorably discharged 1975. He Then spent his career as a shop foreman/ mechanic for American Compressor and Engine Co. retiring in 2016.

Rodger has a passion for woodworking, creating many beautiful pieces and participating in arts and craft shows. He loved living on the coast spending time boating, fishing and cooking out with family and friends. He will always be remembered for the countless nights entertaining us all by playing his guitar as everyone sang along. His absence will be felt deeply by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rodger joins his parents, sister (Chrys), and son (Jacob) in heaven. Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Becky; children: Brandy McCuiston, Stephanie Ullman, and Elisa (Corey) Gilp; brother: James “Sonny” (Betsy) Rector; sister: Robin (Jesse) Goen; grandchildren: Jackson and Kendyln Rector, Kyla Jones, Noah, Brooke and Bryce Ullman and Hensley Gilp; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, 10:00 AM, Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi. A Memorial Service will follow at 2: 00 PM, Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass.
