Sinton- Rolando B. “Gampy” Nerios passed away December 7, 2024. He was 71.

Gampy was born July 23, 1953 in Mathis, Texas to Beatriz (Barrera) and Nicolas Nerios. He was a current resident of Sinton but grew up in Mathis.  Gampy retired from San Patricio County as an Animal Control Supervisor. He loved fishing and camping. Gampy was a go-to handyman and taught his girls to be independent. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army. Gampy will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Nicolas and Beatriz Nerios.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years: Victoria A. Nerios from Sinton, Texas; daughters: Dr. Veronica Gutierrez (Lupe) from Mathis, Texas; Jessica Buentello (Juan) from Robstown, Texas; Denise Castro (Adan) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Miranda Perez (Jonathan) Massachusetts; grandchildren: Martin A. Gutierrez, Nicolas A. Gutierrez, Marissa M. Gonzales, Marisol M. Gonzales, Mercedes M. Gonzales, Marisabel M. Gonzales, Kayla M. Hernandez, Christian K. Nerios, Kaileh N. Rios, Matthew X. Castro, Noah J. Castro, Alexandria J. Ruhd; great-grandchildren: Kora L. Silvas, Kenha Maeve Gonzales; brother: Ruben B. Nerios (Amalia) from Mathis, Texas; sister: Ninfa Lara (Antonio) from Mathis, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 17, 2024, 12:30 PM at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, Corpus Christi, Texas. A Graveside Service will follow at the Coast Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas, 2:00 PM.
