Ronald Floyd Proctor Obituary

Ronald Floyd Proctor, 82, of Bayside, TX passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026 in Portland TX.  A memorial service will be held at The City of Bayside Community Center,  909 1st St in Bayside, Texas on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm.  It will also be streamed to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1324 Wood Ave, Woodsboro, TX.

Ron was born in Webb City, Missouri on August 4, 1943.  He had many happy memories of his childhood and some of his earliest memories include his Grandma Flossie, whom he was especially fond of. His mom and dad, Chet and Dorothea Proctor, enjoyed adventure and moved numerous times during his childhood, and so Ron spent time in various schools, but one thing that stayed the same was his love of music and playing the trombone, where he always ended up first chair.  When he was a teenager, Ron and his parents began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Ron was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 17, 1961.  From that point on, Ron began living the life he loved best - one spent serving his creator Jehovah to the best of his ability.  Ron had a great sense of humor and will be fondly remembered for telling a joke or trying to lighten the moment with humor.  He loved music and he had a passion for scuba diving and spending time at the beach.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Joann Proctor, his parents Chester and Dorothea Proctor and his daughter Leah (Joe) Gerlicki.

He is survived by his sister Jama (Jay) Parker, his sons, Adam (Paige) Ogan, Loyd (Shannon) Proctor and George (Jamar) Ogan and his daughter Lydia (Dave) Conley as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ron was known for his kind and generous spirit, his love for his God, Jehovah, and his family which included a large spiritual family. He was a hard worker and it seemed there was no job he could not tackle and do well.  If you lived in the Bayside area, you probably know of a home he worked on or repaired.  He loved the water and enjoyed scuba diving.  He will be greatly missed, but he had a firm hope of waking up soon in a beautiful paradise where we will welcome him back and he can continue enjoying life forever with his friends and family. (Revelation 21:3,4).
