Ingleside – Rosario Tijerina Sanchez passed away on November 29, 2025 at the age of 64.

Rosario was born on December 23, 1960 in Taft, Texas to Petra (Castillo) and Jose Ramon Tijerina. She was a woman with a beautiful soul and a giving heart—someone who found true joy in caring for others. Rosario loved dancing, listening to music and sharing her incredible cooking with the people she loved. Butterflies always made her smile, and she adored her two dogs, who were constant companions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Petra Tijerina and by her siblings, Rosalinda Casanova and Agapito “JUJU” Carrera.

Rosario leaves behind a large and loving family: her sons, Juan De Dios Castillo, Jr. (Lori)from Sinton, Texas, Eusebio “Flaco” Castillo, Sr. (Tonya) from Portland, Texas and Joe Manuel Castillo (Melissa) from Virginia; her daughters, Rosemary Castillo (Timothy Flores Pena) and Joanna Castillo (Aaron), both from Ingleside, Texas and Rebecca Castillo (Anthony) from Bryan, Texas; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all who brought her tremendous joy. She is also survived by her brothers, Alfredo Balderas, Sr. (Rachel) from Taft, Texas, and Quaqin Soto from Houston, Texas; her sisters, Juanita Soto from Houston, Texas and Angelita Tijerina from Taft, Texas. Rosario cherished her best friends—Brenda Jones, “La China,” Gloria Duran, and Betty—as well as her dear companions, Teddy Castillo and Jake “Tiny” Rios.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, Texas.
