Roy William Johnson

Sinton – Roy William Johnson passed August 28, 2020 after a sudden illness. He was 61.

Roy was born on December 25, 1958 in Edinburg, Texas to Kenward Chessler and Wanda Jean (Lambert) Johnson. He spent his early years in Edinburg and almost 50 years in Sinton. Roy graduated Sinton High School in 1977 and attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas. After attending college for a year, his Mama said she wouldn’t send him back to school because he never brought home a report card. Roy was also a lifelong Rancher. He worked the Gallagher Ranch in Bandera and the Hamilton Ranch in Sinton. Roy had formerly worked at the San Patricio County Jail, Celanese in Bishop and ISS in Sinton. He obtained his certification in Oklahoma as a Ferrier. Roy was also a lover of cattle, horses and his grandbabies. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Ken and Wanda Johnson.

Survivors include his wife: Kathy Morin Johnson of Sinton, Texas; daughters: Kelli Ann Myers (Roy) of Mathis, Texas and Katherine Muzzall of Sinton, Texas; a son: DJ Morin (Valerie) of Abilene, Texas; 8 grandchildren: Bentley Muzzall, Emilee Myers, Remi Morin, Bella Morin, Bethany McGarrah, Jesse McGarrah, Aggie Johnson and Clinton “Cap” Johnson; a nephew who was like a son: Kenneth Wayne Johnson (Savannah) of Berclair, Texas; brothers: Skeeter Johnson (Lee Ann) of Crockett, Texas and Michael Johnson of Sinton, Texas.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, September 2, 2020, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Funeral Service will be held the same day, 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Sam Lankford will officiate. Private family burial will follow.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Johnson, Skeeter Johnson, Roy Myers, Rocky Baylor, Kris Lamb and DJ Morin. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Baldwin, Nick Baldwin, Blake Johnson, Mike Johnson and Shane Baylor.
