Sinton – Salomon A. Tamez passed away on September 18, 2024. He was 91.
Salomon was born on October 22, 1932 in Harlingen, Texas to Salome (Aguirre) and Enrique Tamez. He was a resident of Sinton, Texas for most of his life. Salomon was self-employed, specializing in painting and construction. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his spouse: Guadalupe Moreno Tamez; parents: Enrique and Solome Tamez; brothers: Santos Tamez and Domingo Tamez; sister: Tomasa Hernandez.
Salomon is survived by his sons: Jose Domingo Tamez (Roxanne) from Sinton, Texas and Jose Alfredo Tamez (Melinda Daugherty- Tamez) from Houston, Texas; daughter: Mary Villarreal (John) from Sinton, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Mistica Lynn Tamez, Veronica Villarreal, John Ryan Villarreal, Sarah Castillo, Lisa Villarreal, Joseph Tamez, Evan Helm Tamez; 7 great-grandchildren: Salomon Vasilakopoulos, Julius Castillo, Christopher Villarreal, Caleb Villarreal, Ethan Castillo, Delilah Castillo, Zaiden Castillo; brother: Abelino Tamez (Ofelia) from Robstown, Texas; sisters: Julia Barrera (Estevan) from Robstown, Texas and Aurora Vasquez (Juan) from Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will begin Friday, September 27, 2024, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 28, 2024, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton, Texas. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
