Sinton – Salvador Cerda passed away July 19, 2020. He was 31.
“The fire that fueled his life will forever burn in our hearts”…- Emmanuel Cerda. When we first open our eyes, the countdown begins for when you last close them. Salvador was born May 30th, 1989 to Mother Dora Elia Cerda and Father Pedro Cerda, Salvador Cerda opened his eyes, filled his lungs, and declared “I AM HERE.” He lived enjoying what life had to offer. Early sunrises, late sunsets were always welcomed and embraced with surroundings of loved ones, and friends who would in turn one day become family. Salvador was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas and former resident of Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was a radar technician for Raytheon Technologies. Salvador proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW. Salvador was a loving father, son, brother, grandson and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Salvador is preceded in death by his Grandparents Josefa O. Cerda, Ruben Charles and Dora M. Charles; Aunt Josefina Cerda.
He is survived by his son, Liam Amyes Cerda (mother, former spouse Devin Cerda); parents, Pedro Ortega Cerda and Dora Elia Cerda (Charles); brother Emmanuel Cerda (spouse Olivia Cerda); sister Dorina Villarreal (spouse Vicente Villarreal); Grandfather Candelario Cerda; Uncle Efren Torres (spouse Teresa Torres), Aunt Maria D. Torres, Aunt Eulogia Flores (spouse Jorge Flores), Uncle Candelario Cerda (spouse Alma Cerda), and Uncle Edgar Charles (spouse Dalila Charles); Nephews, Cristian and Andres Villarreal; Niece Ariana Cerda; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 beginning at 5:00 PM. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Thursday, July 23, 2020 beginning at 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton. A Graveside Service will be held the same afternoon, 1:00 PM in Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi.
