Our hearts are overwhelmed with sadness of the passing of Samuel H. Rivera, loving husband, Dad, grandfather, and friend.  

He passed away on September 2nd, 2025, at the young age of 89 years old.  He lived life with love, resilience and courage.  We and everyone that knew him will miss him dearly.   He reunites in eternity with his beloved wife, Julia Valdez-Rivera of 55 years and son Roberto (Bob) Rivera.  The love they shared was profound, filling their lives with shared memories and a love for God, even in the most trying times.

He is survived by his sister Lydia R. Montalvo, 8 children DoraLinda Rivera, Ermalinda (Frank) Pena, Dagoberto Rivera, Humberto Rivera, Rigoberto (Lori) Rivera, Amanda (Jose) Garcia, Arleen (Julio) Rivera, and Eileen (David) Standlee; 9 grandchildren that Samuel and Julia would love, care, and raise as their own. The love shared will continue to grow their family into the 4th generation with 6 great grandchildren.  Samuel will forever remain a beloved presence in our lives, inspiring us to cherish each moment and find joy, just as he did.

Funeral services are Friday September 5th at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton.  Public viewing and Holy Catholic Rosary will begin at 9am followed by church services at Immaculate Conception Church in Taft at 11am.  Samuel will be laid to rest at Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery in Taft next to his beloved with wife, Julia and son, Bob.  Pallbearers are Gavin Galvan, Jaymen Galvan, Eli Rivera, Joel Rivera, Joseph Garcia, Manuel Montalvo Jr.  David Standlee, Tommy Ronje, Evan Rivera and Rueben Trevino.  We ask during this time you keep our family in your prayers and would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the well-wishes.
