Taft – San Juanita Rios passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024 with her loving family at her side. She was 76.
San Juanita was born September 12, 1948 in Taft, Texas to Florentina (Perez) and Anastacio Valenzuela. She was a lifelong resident of Taft.
San Juanita was formerly employed by the dental office of Dr. Charles Kolb in Taft where she worked for 26 years. She had a heart of gold, and had an enormous love for her grandchildren and her family. San Juanita could be sassy, and she loved life. She often tended to her flowers, making sure they were watered and vibrant. The legacy she leaves behind is her heart and the love she spread to everyone.
Preceding in death are her parents: Anastacio and Florentina Valenzuela; sisters: Elidia Valenzuela and Magdalena Rodriguez.
Survivors include her husband: Natividad Rios from Taft, Texas; daughters: Melisa Monk (Gilmer) from Salado, Texas and Jackie Rodriguez (Herman) from Taft, Texas; sons: Natividad Rios, Jr. (Misty Nicol) from San Antonio, Texas; Anestacio Rios, III (Veronica) from Cypress, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters: Alvesa Valenzuela from Taft, Texas and Alicia Gonzales from Portland, Texas; numerous extended friends and relatives.
Visitation will begin Sunday, September 29, 2024, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 30, 2024, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
