Santiago A. Trevino, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025.

Born on December 1, 1936, in Sinton, Texas, to Francisca (Aleman) and Miguel R. Trevino, Santiago spent much of his life in the community he loved. Though he later became a resident of Mathis, Texas, Sinton remained close to his heart as the place where he was born, raised, and shaped by deep family and community ties.Santiago worked for six years at Cavitt Hardware before following his entrepreneurial spirit and opening Jim's Appliance Service in Mathis. He took pride in his work and built lasting relationships through his dedication and craftsmanship. A passionate sports fan, Santiago especially loved football and baseball. In his younger years, he played for the Sinton Cardinals, a time he fondly remembered and often spoke of. Whether watching a game or reminiscing about playing, sports remained a joyful and central part of his life. Santiago will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, dedication, and love for community and family leave behind a lasting legacy.

Preceding in death is his daughter: Lucy Hinojosa (Frank); granddaughter: Gabriella Peralez; parents: Francisca and Miguel Trevino; former spouse and mother of his children: Evangelina R. Trevino.

Survivors include his son: Santiago R. Trevino, Jr. (Egda) from Beeville, Texas; daughters: Elsie Rodriguez (Felipe) from Odem, Texas and Elvia Gonzalez (George) from Sinton, Texas; grandchildren: Phillip Rodriguez, Miranda Garza (Carlos), Joshua Gonzalez (Greta), Jennifer Kay (Troy), George Gonzalez, Jr. (Darlene), Justin Gonzalez (Penni), Jimmy Trevino (Shelly), Ashley Cueva (Miguel), Jared Trevino, Teresa Hinojosa (Joe) and Angelic Hinojosa; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchild; brothers: Rudy Trevino from Beeville, Texas, Ernesto Trevino (Belia) from Houston, Texas, Henry Trevino (Nelda) and Patrick Trevino; sisters: Tomasa Jimenez from Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Jane from Austin, Texas, Janie Woodall (William) from Victoria, Texas, Dominga Trevino, Irene Trevino (Rick) and Corina Gutierrez (Danny), all from Sinton, Texas; longtime domestic friend: Olga Aleman from Mathis, Texas; numerous nephews, nieces and extended family members.

Visitation will begin Sunday, August 31, 2025, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held the same afternoon, 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will resume Monday, September 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM until dismissal for church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church in Sinton with Fr. Yul Ibay as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.

Pallbearers will be Joshua W. Gonzalez, George Gonzalez, Jr., Justin R. Gonzalez, Phillip Rodriguez, Jr., Jimmy Trevino, III and Caleb Burk.
