Santos Ramirez Obituary
Santos Ramirez – Gregory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Santos Ramirez, who departed this world on May 24, 2026 at the age of 87.
Santos was born on August 1, 1938 to Fermin and Margarita Hernandez. She was a beacon of love, faith, and compassion throughout her life.
Santos was a devoted wife to her late husband, Rogelio Ramirez. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 48 years, during which they built a loving home filled with faith, warmth and laughter. Their Sundays were sacred, as they attended church services together, nurturing a deep spiritual bond that guided their family life.
A proud and nurturing mother, Santos was blessed with five children: her late sons Ricardo, Alfredo and Jose Angel, and her surviving daughters Sara (Rey) Barrera, Linda Ramirez and Amanda Ramirez.
Her family was her greatest joy, and she embraced her role with unwavering dedication and love. Santos’ gentle spirit and selfless nature were evident in her every action, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Santos was cherished by her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and celebrated with pride. Her family was her treasure, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and unity that will continue to inspire them.
Santos was a cherished sister to her surviving siblings, Precilla Gomez, Ninfa Hernandez, Isable Hernandez and Armando (Irma) Hernandez. Her late siblings, Dora Pena, Santiago Hernandez and Fermin Hernandez Jr, shared a special bond with her that transcended life's challenges and triumphs.
A woman of deep faith, Santos was an active member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church community. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, as she attended services every Sunday and participated in Bible study sessions every Wednesday. Her church family was an extension of her own, bringing her comfort and joy throughout her lifetime.
Santos found simple pleasures in life, including her love for word searches, which she enjoyed with a keen mind and a joyful spirit. Her thoughtful and caring nature was evident to all who knew her, as she touched the lives of many with her kindness and grace.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Santos's life at a service to be held on May 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church, located at 310 State St. in Gregory, Texas. A short funeral service held May 30th, 2026, 10:00 AM at the church. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Gregory Cemetery.
It is a time to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who gave so much of herself to others and whose memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Santos Ramirez, a woman of faith, love, and compassion, will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
