Odem - Shirley B. Cherry passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 with her family at her side. She was 88.
Shirley was born on November 19, 1935 in Arkansas to Allie Beatrice (Tipton) and Montie Eugene Bryant. Shirley attended Beech Grove Baptist Church until she moved to Texas. She was a resident of Odem, Texas more than 60 years. At a very young age, Shirley asked Jesus into her heart. Anyone that knew her knew she had a very strong faith. Shirley was a child of The KING. She loved like Jesus did.
Preceding in death are a son: Bobby Cherry; parents: Montie and Allie Bryant; and her siblings.
Survivors include her daughters: Sandy Curtiss (Jeff) from George West, Texas and Beck Rackley (Rickey) from Odem, Texas; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and sister: Montine Bryant from Fordyce, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Odem. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 AM. The Funeral Service will be the same day, 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Odem.
