Simona Perez Ybanez

Odem – Simona Perez Ybanez passed away June 17, 2022. She was 78. Simona was born on October 28, 1943 in George West, Texas to Manuel and Esperanza (Villarreal) Perez. She was a resident of Odem, Texas for the last 54 years and formerly resided in George West, Texas. Simona was a former Manager at Dairy Queen for several years and retired from Valley Wide Restoration after 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Manuel and Esperanza Perez; 2 brothers; 1 great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her loving husband: Martin Ybanez; son: Jesse Ybanez; daughters: JoAnn Ybanez Cruz (Martin), Diana Ybanez (Joe) and Christy Ybanez; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother: Albert Perez; sisters: Victoria Garza, Andrea Rodriguez and Celia Cuevas.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 21, 2022, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Christian Rites Service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 8:30 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Graveside Service will follow in Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi at 10:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Martin (Gordo) Cruz, Joe Ybanez, Christopher Cruz, Marc Gonzales, Jr., Christian Gonzales, Randy Marroquin, Marc Gonzales and Alex Ybanez.
