Sinton – Stacie Richter, age 50, fell asleep in death October 27, 2023 after a 3 ½ year battle with an illness.
Stacie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was employed for 10 years with Radiology Associates until having to leave due to her health. In her younger years, Stacie enjoyed working on cars and doing lawns with her Dad for extra income. She was her husband Jim’s favorite barber.
The words found in the bible at Acts 20:35 best describes Stacie’s dominant character – “there is more happiness in giving than receiving”. What made Stacie the happiest was giving to others, whether it was financially (when she could), often beyond her means or her time. Stacie was also known for her witty character. She could hold a straight face, and you might not even know when she was merely joking. Stacie spent several months doing relief/aid research in 2019 and 2020. Stacie also became knowledgeable in the electrical field during Hurricane Harvey relief work spending several months in the Commerce, Wharton, El Campo and Bay City areas while holding down a full-time job. She spent many hours sharing Bible truths in the Corpus Christi and surrounding communities. All of these things were a reflection and a deep appreciation for her heavenly father Jehovah, whom she relied on heavily to help her through many difficult times in her life. Finally, at the end of her short life, she found something that she had always wanted – to live and work on a farm. She was able to fulfill this longing for a short four years. Stacie also helped build and install many things in her new home to make it more usable, functional and pleasant. Stacie was a talented and creative homemaker. Her real hope one day is to return and cultivate the earth and take care of it, as mentioned in Genesis 2:15, at a time when the words of Revelation 21:3-4 will be fulfilled where it states “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.... the former things have passed away”
Preceding in death is a sister, Jenny Barrera.
Survivors include her husband: Jim Richter from Sinton, Texas; parents: Ernie and Sharon Whittaker; and her favorite nephew, Jackson Barrera.
A Memorial Gathering will be held November 18, 2023, 2:00 PM at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds in Sinton.
