Tommy Edward Culp Obituary
Aransas Pass – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tommy Edward Culp, who went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2025, at the age of 72.
Tommy was born on February 20, 1953, in Austin, Texas, to Vera Noreen (Carrigan) and Alford T. Culp, Jr. From an early age, Tommy was known for his strong work ethic, warm smile, and generous heart. He was a proud member of the Merchant Marines, a time that filled him with great pride and nourished his passion for the water.
Following his time as a Merchant Marine, Tommy built a fulfilling career at Aransas Autoplex, where he worked for 30 years. Known for his reliability and easygoing nature, he became a friend to many—someone always ready to lend a hand or share a good laugh.
Tommy found true joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved the outdoors, especially tending to his garden, where his green thumb and patient spirit made things bloom. A master of the grill, Tommy could turn any gathering into a feast, surrounded by family, laughter, and the smell of good barbecue. He also had a soft spot for hummingbirds, finding peace in watching their delicate beauty. Above all, Tommy’s greatest joy was his family—especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His love for them was boundless, and his presence will live on in their hearts forever.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Vera Culp.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Mary C. Culp of Aransas Pass, Texas; his son, Jacinto “Jay” Medina (Terri) of Ingleside, Texas; his daughter, Mary Peña (Brian) of Sinton, Texas; six cherished grandchildren; two precious great-grandchildren; and his brother, Henry Robberson (Jorge Alvarado) of Long Beach, California.
A Memorial Service celebrating Tommy’s life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass. Family and friends are invited to come share memories, laughter, and love in honor of a life well lived.
