Corpus Christi – Veronica Alcala Suarez passed away June 3, 2021. She was 61.
Veronica was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 4, 1960 to Anastacio and Maria Rita (Ayala) Alcala. She was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Veronica retired as a Civil Service Environmental Specialist from CCAD after working for 35 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death are her father: Anastacio Alcala; stepson: Joe Mike Suarez.
Survivors include her husband: Joe Ed Suarez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons: Richard Miller (Anissa) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Joe Ed Suarez, Jr. of St. Paul, Texas; daughters: Amanda Martinez of Virginia, Cathy Jo Suarez of St. Paul, Texas and Jolynda Scott (Thomas) of Japan; grandchildren: Rosie, Rosie Jo, Richard Anthony “RJ” and Kendal Joseph; mother: Maria Rita Alcala of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers: Alfredo Alcala (Julie) and Daniel Alcala (Tammy) all of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister: Deborah Jasso (Joe) of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will begin Thursday, June 10, 2021, 6:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Friday, June 11, 2021, 8: 00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sinton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 11, 2021, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sinton. Burial will follow in John J. Welder Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Paul.
Pallbearers will be Seiji Jasso, Alfred Alcala, Stephen Suarez, Daniel Alcala, Daniel Suarez and Ismael Rocha, Jr.
