Viola A. Maldonado passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. She was 77.

Viola was born on December 13, 1947 in Taft, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonor (Alvarez) and Vidal Maldonado. She was known for her vibrant spirit and love for life. Viola enjoyed dancing, music, and traveling. She was friendly, outspoken and social, always bringing laughter and warmth wherever she went. She also loved cooking and was wonderfully creative and crafty.  

Viola is preceded in death by her parents: Vidal and Leonor Maldonado; brother: Mario Maldonado; sister: Beatrice Garcia.

Survivors include her son: Joshua D. Maldonado (Priscilla) from Sinton, Texas; grandchildren: Alyssa Maldonado, Elizabeth Maldonado, Neveah Flores, Jozef Tamez and Zayden Maldonado; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Bentley, Kataleya, Ara, Juniper, Ramie, Aries, Ezekiel and Mateo; brothers: Andres Vasquez (Minerva) from San Antonio, Texas; Juan Maldonado (Alicia) from Robstown, Texas; and Vidal Maldonado (Yolanda) from Austin, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, with burial to follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
