,Edroy – Andres “China Bear” Cruz passed away April 7, 2016. He was 35.

Andres was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 13, 1980 to Luis and Delia (Chavez) Cruz. He was a bouncer and also worked in sales for a telephone company. Andres was a lifelong resident of Edroy, Texas.

Andres is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Enriqueta Chavez and Bennie Cesar Chavez; and paternal grandfather: Indalecio Cruz.

Survivors include parents: Luis and Delia Cruz of Edroy, Texas; sister: Roxanne Cruz of Edroy, Texas; brothers: Luis Cruz, Jr. (Erica) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Indalecio “Chico” Cruz (Isabel) of Corpus Christi, Texas; maternal grandmother: Celia Vasquez Cruz of Edroy, Texas; girlfriend: Brandy Guidrey of Odem, Texas; step-son: Vincent Infante of Odem, Texas; nieces: Selena Benavidez, Sophia Benavidez and Cataleya Cruz; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; the friends who were more like brothers: Mike (Denise) Vargas, Jacob Murphy, and Rolando "Rolie" Reyes; and many countless friends. 

Visitation will begin Monday, April 11, 2016, 11:00 AM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton, Texas. A rosary will be held the same day, 1:30 PM, followed by the funeral service, 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Andres’ family would like to thank the family members and friends who offered their love, support and prayers during our time of need. We extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Christus Spohn Shoreline and Dr. Ester Pollard who became part of our family. You cared for our beloved Andres with care and gave him special attention.
