Odem - Mrs. Anna Maria (Annie) Mancias died peacefully in her home on August 19, 2016 in Odem, Texas. She was 66.
Annie was born March 11, 1950 in Alice, Texas. She graduated from Benavides High School and attended Texas A&I University where she met Juan, her husband of 45 years. Annie practiced as a Radiology Technologist for 23 years before having to medically retire due to disability brought on by Dystonia.
Annie loved crafts and creating gifts for those she loved; from hand sewn dolls, to family heirloom quilts, to stained glass windows. Her greatest asset was her sense of humor; everyone was a potential target for a practical joke. She loved watching her boys play baseball and was excited to see that passion pass on to Alex “Bigun” and Luke “Lukie Bear”. The grandkids loved to take “rides” with Nana on her electric wheelchair. She loved to take Mila on science explorations in her chair; and Marco “has” to sleep with his “bampets” blanket that was hand sewn by his Nana.
Preceding in death are her parents, Anselmo and Rosa Gloria (Canales) Elizondo and brother, Rick Elizondo.
Annie is survived by her husband Juan Mancias, Jr. of Odem, Texas; children Dennis Mancias, Mike Mancias (spouse Marlen) and Joe Dan Mancias (spouse Amy), all of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Mila Mancias; grandsons Alex, Luke and Marco Mancias, all of San Antonio, Texas; brothers Chemo Elizondo of Benavides, Texas and Mario Elizondo (spouse Rosie) of Ohio; sisters Belinda Elizondo of Kingsville, Texas and Anna Lisa Elizondo of Alice, Texas.
