Earlene Havelka passed away August 25, 2015.  She was born April 3, 1929, in Yoakum, Texas, to William J. and Bessie Janca, and lived in Sinton all of her life.

     Earlene was diagnosed with ALS in the early 1990’s.  Her strong faith in God gave her the peace and courage to meet each challenge with grace and dignity. Earlene was always the first to count the blessings in her life.  She never lost her positive attitude, gentle spirit and kind heart.  

     She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; son, Donald; her parents and 2 brothers.

     Earlene is survived by three children: Mike (Sherry) Havelka of Mathis; Debbie (Robert) Miller of Sinton and Diane Havelka of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Randy (Monica) Miller; Traci (Phillip) Zimmerhanzel; Kimberly (Charlie) Nelson; and Chris (Sterling) Havelka; and nine great grandchildren: Lakin and Lauren Miller; Ty and Sydney Zimmerhanzel; Ella and Mason Nelson; and Nixon, Daren and Deacon Havelka.

     Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, on Friday, August 28th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 29th, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sinton followed with burial at Sinton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Miller, Randy Miller, Charlie Nelson, Chris Havelka, Phillip Zimmerhanzel, Jay Janca and Jeff Janca.
