Odem -Gilberto Rosa, Sr., 88, passed away at his home on July 18, 2015 with his loving family at his side. He was born on December 26, 1926 in Garceno, Texas to Gabino and Maria (Saenz) Rosa. Gilberto spent most of his adult life in Odem, Texas where he and his wife, Elida, raised their family. He was a retired farm laborer and was a dedicated employee to the Charles Spiekerman Farms. 

Gilberto is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elida M. Rosa and his parents.Survivors include a son: Gilberto Rosa, Jr. of Sinton, Texas; three daughters: Linda Keevan (Steve) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Elida Hawthorne (David) of Sinton, Texas and Norma Medrano (Felipe) of Robstown, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Odem, Texas. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem. Pallbearers will be Wayne A. Keevan, Joel Rosa, Candido Rosa, Jr., Ramiro Rosa, Jesus H. Guerra and Jesus L. Guerra. Honorary pallbearers will be Aureliano Garza, Jr., Juan Lerma, Matthew S. Keevan, Felipe Medrano, III and Aristeo Pizana. Arrangements and care entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.
