Taft - Minerva Rodriguez Lopez, 73, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 14, 2017.

Minerva was born on October 13, 1943 to Teofilo Rodriguez and Maria De Jesus Ramos Rodriguez in Taft, Texas. Minerva was a Catholic Daughter at Immaculate Conception Church in Taft. Minerva was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post #9318 in Taft. She was a patriotic instructor. Minerva worked for the Taft Hospital 19 years (1969-1988) as a Dietary in the kitchen until the hospital closed down. In 1989 she started working at the Shoreline Rehabilitation Center in Taft as a Dietary Supervisor until April 2003.

Minerva is preceded in death by her parents, Teofilo and Maria Rodriguez and her brothers, Antonio Rodriguez, Bernardo Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez and Alfredo Rodriguez.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years: Cecillio L. Lopez of Taft; her daughter: Millee (Danny) Martinez of Taft; her son: Joaquin “Jack” Lopez of Taft; sisters: Antonia (Antonio) Riojas of Taft and Rosalinda (Pedro) Arroyo of Portland; brothers: Bonifacio Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Salvador (Anita) Rodriguez of Taft and Carlos (Mary) Rodriguez of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, 4:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 18, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church in Taft with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Services will conclude after the Funeral Mass.
