Sinton – Raul Villanueva Lara passed away January 11, 2016. He was 69.

Raul was born in Sinton, Texas on April 8, 1946 to Jesus and Luisa (Villanueva) Lara. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents: Jesus and Luisa Lara; and grandson: Roland Melendez.

Survivors include his wife: Ida Lopez of Ft. Worth, Texas; sons: Michael and Roland Lara of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter: Cynthia Lara (Hector Almeda) of Ft. Worth, Texas; 2 stepdaughters: Edna Garcia (Chris) and Hope Aguirre of Sinton, Texas; brother: Robert Lara of Sinton, Texas; 4 sisters: Alicia Davis of Sinton, Texas; Jesusa Gonzales of Van Alstyne, Texas; Janie Hopkins of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mary Lou Perez (Joe) of Farmersville, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Thursday, January 14, 2016, 5:00PM to 9:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A rosary will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM followed by a Christian Rites service at 11:30 AM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton with Father Jose Ortiz officiating. Burial will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Corpus Christi.
